Default Panasonic DMP-BD35 won't select Dolby Digital from audio set up menu of Blu Ray disc.

I'm watching Heroes: Season 1. The disc setup menu shows that DTS-HD and Dolby Digital soundtracks are available. DTS-HD is the default. I am unable to select the Dolby Digital track. The cursor skips past this option as if it weren't there. Can anyone suggest how to make the machine select the DD track?

Some additional info: This problem has occurred on two Heroes discs. I have no other Blu Ray discs with both a DTS-HD and a Dolby digital track to use for troubleshooting. On a standard DVD that I have, the BD35 lets me select between DTS and Dolby digital using the disc's audio setup menu.

My receiver has no HDMI input or lossless audio decoder. It does decode Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 signals. Because I do not use a center channel speaker, I cannot hear dialogue on a DTS soundtrack; DTS dialogue is on the center channel. That's why I want access to the Dolby digital track on the Heroes disc.

I run the DMP-BD35 audio to the receiver through an optical cable to the receiver. I run the video by HDMI to my Panasonic plasma TV.

This is my first post. Please comment whether I've given too much or too little info.

Try the audio button on the remote. It cycles through the available choices of audio tracks.

Most dialog is on the center channel of DD tracks as well. That's how programs are mixed. The codec that gets used for compression doesn't change the mix.

Have you configured your receiver for a speaker array without a center channel? If so, it ought to move the dialog to the L/R fronts and create a phantom center.

your the blu-players is fine and your receiver is limited hardware. your Heroes is audio decode only DTS HD 5.1 !

you can run on PS3 sound mix DTS HD to Dolby Digital or DTS for only PCM.
you can used opital digital for DTS HD 5.1 to 2 channel PCM.
if use HDMI will 5.1 or 7.1 more 8.1 ch.

PS3 is price $399.99 or new the receiver brand 2008. now down price. looking a new receiver. please it's important receiver have HDMI.
