Help with my Panasonic TH-42PX80U Setup

Hello Im the New Guy!!!!!!!!!With a lot of questions.

I just bought my new Panasonic TH-42PX80U I got at Sears for $699.99 and Panny DMP-30 for $199.99 with 2.6 firmware and it has an awesome picture and so far Batman : Dark Knight looks amazing the tv is hooked up with a Monster 1000 Ultra HDMI cable playing at 1080p / 24p and got some good settings off TweakTv.com. My question is how is the 720p tv playing 1080p with 24/p. And also should i upgrade to the TH-42PZ80U and will I see a better picture , Im about 6 feet from it.

Im looking at a panasonic home theater or can i piece a 2.1 a Tru HD System?

Also what is good things to buy to get rid of the noise interference on the tv.

My setup:

Panasonic TH-42PX80U 720p / But playing movies in 1080p / 24p
Panasonic DMP-30k

I have a cheap surge with no clean filter will it help if I get a monster power center?
