Love it. No better way to go. I'm usually a fan of physical media (blu-rays rather than downloading, for example)... but in the case of music, I'm all for mp3's...

Yeah, I have probably bought 1 cd in the last 2 years. All my music is on my Ipods, and it's so much nicer than having to switch cds or burn cds. Music is a lot different than movies, in that it takes less hard drive to store and downloads quickly. I can't imagine having all my movies on a hard drive and not being able to loan them to friends or rent them from a video store. I do have a few movies on my Ipod Touch but that's movies that came with a free digital copy.

I don't care for it yet.

I have an ipod now and I stuff itunes with my cd's but I'm not feeling the love for this thing yet. I guess I don't travel enough... must be great on the go but I'd much rather be home and spin a cd in the Home Theater.

I bought a 30GB Philips Jukebox from Walmart for $150 two years ago and have used it probably less than ten times. I use my PSP way more often for a music/ portable music player. I normally only download 320kbps songs or the highest quality MP3 available.

I should start using my portable, water-resistant CD player again to show I care. I embrace almost all technologies.

While I love my 80gb iPod, I sort of feel bad that music is becoming a non-tangible item.

I ran a record store for 8 years, and there used to be something magical about obsessing over vinyl sleeves or even well-done CD packaging.

Now it's just zeroes and ones, making up disposable hit singles on the month.

I love CDs; I buy about 10 per month. That being said, I love the portability of digital audio files. I have nearly 1,000 CDs, and I'm in the process of re-ripping them as Apple Lossless.

you seem to be against cd's in one thread and for them in another thread.

You can have portable copies of music you own on a physical CD. I buy all of my music on CD, but that doesn't prevent me creating portable copies of the tracks for the sake of convenience.

I'm not against or for CD's. In fact, I even recommended burning MP3's to CD's so I don't see the issue. I was agreeing to the fact that there are many forgettable, disposable singles that come out each month and it's very sad. It isn't completely due to MP3's but it has something to do with it.

yes, i know. i do that whenever possible. i have a zune and have loaded it with a lot of my music. i just tend to prefer cd's and cd players over mp3/wav flies and media players. they seem more of a headache than a convenience. i dropped my zune a while back and now it's all buggy and crap. the last zune i had i dropped as well, but it still works beautifully. i've only dropped two media players that i've owned. the rest weren't dropped and still weren't smooth operators. as silly as it seems i just prefer the physical product almost all the time. even if that means carrying 20 cd's with me. case and all.

You still can own that physical product. You can also combine all of those physical products into one physical product (MP3 CD). Then, you can have all your songs on one disc.

i understand all that. i just happen to prefer the official physical package rather than a burned mp3 cd or any other burned cd. i like the artwork on the cd and the cd layout/packaging as well as the liner notes.
