I don't know if I am in the minority or not, but this bugs me. A lot of blu-rays I have bought lately have these glossy cardboard back covers that detail all the extras included with the, and sometimes descriptions of the film. They are not attached or part of the blu-ray. They are held on with that little glue piece. When you take them off, the information they contain is not on the back cover. The back cover is just a picture of something.
What kills me is the information generally is not repeated inside the blu-ray anywhere else and they are slightly larger than the slipcover so if you want to keep them, they don't fit inside too well. Indiana Jones is one example. I just picked it up and it details the extras included. Nowhere inside does it have this information, so I have to slide the cardboard inside with a fold at the top and it make it tight to get the films out. Titanic 3d did the same thing. Am i being silly or does anyone else have an issue with this. |

![]() I believe the idea is to have the pretty picture on your shelf, once you've already read the info and bought the disk. Would you really want the sales advertising-blurb afterwards? (Don't tell me...You keep the slipcovers too, right?) |

Some "cardboard" pieces are worth hanging onto, like the stuff you get on empty Best Buy cases or limited edition sets that include artsy packaging with little to no information about the contents. Like books, having nearly everything intact keeps the resale/collectable value high. Last edited by Trekkie313; 09-20-2012 at 08:25 AM. |

Alot of Steelbooks have this.. annoying, since I find the running time pretty important information and then it is often not repeated somewhere else. Especially when they have those cardboard pieces which you over the Steelbook which are just perfect.
But if the cardboard isn't useable, I just throw it away and search for the running time on Blu-ray.com beforehand. Odd that I have to use a site for such mundane information but the hassle of a cardboard piece which constantly slides off isn't worth it for me. |

It is, but if that paper constantly shifts when I pick the blu-ray or another blu-ray and I have to constantly place it back on the Steel, I get annoyed by it and the flimsy way it looks. Why they don't just op for those carboards which you can slide over the steel like with the Taken Play, Drive HMV one etc. is beyond me.
