Angry no sound

OK, so i went out and got the sony 550 today. Got it all set up to my NAD 752 via 5.1. I went into the blu-ray set-up and did all that. I put my fresh new TROY bd in and started her up. NO SOUND
And yes, it is set to multi channel analog.

Please help!

How do you select the analog inputs on your NAD?

My NAD is 7.1/5.1 capable. There is a 7.1 button on the front that is suppose to access the component hooked up to the 7.1 input jacks, but it doesn`t work. I had my old player hooked up via coaxial.
I hooked my coaxial back up and it worked, but only on dd ex.

In set up of your player there is PCM or Bitstreem.

Bitstreem is when your Reciever can decode all codecs sending it HDMI

PCM is when the player decodes in it self and transfer back to your reciever

A year back i used anolog from my samsung 1400 into my Denon 787.I had to set it in the Blu-ray player to PCM.Look for it and Try it out.

If it does'nt work come back and we will try something eles Brother

I don't really know your player but it might also have a choice in the Setup) for you to choose HDMI or anolog
look for that as well.I think you no what one to choose

I hope this help you

Still no luck. I set the player to multi channel analog and all settings that have pcm to pcm. I should be able to push the 7.1 button on my reciever and get audio, nothing.

The only way to get audio is to use the coaxial. This is what i used on my old dvd.

Maybe the 7.1 on my reciever is bad, i`ve never used it.

My wife actually pointed out a reciever that is satelite ready this morning, we just recently got sirius on a new car and she really likes it. I asked her thoughts on a new reciever and she didn`t shoot it down all she said was lets wait a few weeks due to some big bills being due this month. I quickly got online to start looking at recievers

Here's a simple test. Hook up the L+R inputs on your NAD to a CD/DVD player. See if there's sound coming out of them. If there are, proceed to check the rest of the analog inputs. And if all of them are working properly, then your BD player is not.

If your NAD still has no sound with the L+R input from the CD/DVD player, check your manual to see if you have to enable it on the receiver somewhere.

Yipee, i have sound now I just knew that my receiver`s analog didn`t work because i hooked up my old dvd and no sound on it either. I was going over and over my manual and saw that there is a set-up menu that is only accessable through an on-screen display via s-video that i had forgotten about.
I pulled every thing out, set up the osd and went into the input settings and changed the audio in to 7.1. Lo and behold there was the sound
It has been years since i have went into that osd so i just didn`t think about it.

The good part is that i now have audio through my analog, which is what thought would be best from everything i`ve read on here so far, but i think i like the coaxial better.

The question i have now is would i see a great improvement in audio quality if i upgrade my receiver?
The wife is onboard with a new one, she still thinks this doesn`t work properly. I don`t think i will tell her that i fixed it

Your player decodes internally and sends it out anolag "set to PCM" you will get DTSHD and DOLBYTRUE you won't see it .It will or should post in you display PCM

Check out this thread it might help you.I think this is where you are :
