Default Netflix Instant Devices

I am thinking about getting the $99 Instant Netflix player. I am already a Netflix subscriber and will continue to rent Blu-Rays through them, but I thought it might be nice to have instance access movies and television shows any time. Does anyone have any input on this service? Any pros and cons?

for my tastes, there selection isn't that great, especially for HD content. IMO There selection is horrible if you're strictly looking for hd streaming....

It's OK but I cancelled it after a while. No new releases kind of sucks.

I love it. The selection of movies is getting more diverse and it works like a champ. They've also began streaming HD* movies. It's free now, but I believe it's only a matter of time till they attach a fee. But until then I'll gladly enjoy it.

*Haven't tried one yet so don't know how HD it is.

Im likely to cancel mine, i use it on the 360 and it works well enough, but the movie selection sucks balls. And a lot of movies disapear out of nowhere. I did watch Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind last night tho and i loved it, PQ sucked tho, and i think it wasnt OAR as well.

They need to re-do their licensing to keep more movies on forever, not to rotate. Till that happens, its a pretty shoddy service.

You definitely have to be a connoisseur of B horror, sci-fi and action to get your moneys worth. Which I am.

I can stomach a lot of sci-fi b movies (hell i'm still a godzilla fan ) but not what netflix offers for streaming.... i've just never heard of 95% of the titles they offer. The streaming movies is just an added bonus since i was already using them for rental purposes

I'm just hoping that they get some anime in HD, that is what i'm really hoping starts to happen. They have an amazing anime selection and that was the first big selling point for me to start using them.

I'd be a lot more interested if they could get some new releases in HD to ease the bottleneck of Blu's currently in my queue. I wish also they had the Adult Swim stuff available for streaming. As it is, the selection is pretty slim so whatever I have on instant I just watch with the Xbox.

I like it. The HD content to me looks every bit as good as the HD content I get from DirecTV. I have a 6MB DSL connection, and I regularly get 4 bars of connection. You're not going to get AAA new releases, but if you are a fan of independent films and B movies; it's got a pretty good selection. I wouldn't get Netflix specifically for streaming.... and I probably wouldn't even buy a streaming device if I didn't already have an XBox 360 that does it.... but since I already have Netflix and a streaming device.... it's a really nice bonus.

I've tried running this at home via the newest xbox360 update. The quality of the picture isn't that great. At the same time, my internet connection is just above the basic service plan so, I'd say it does depend on your speed a great deal. There was a noticable upgrade in quality from basic to the next step up as I recently moved the speed a bit faster. Works great at my office as far as watching on my computer. I'm not looking for anything fancy there though. Not sure about the complaints of amount of content, there is plenty there and they are always adding more and more stuff.
