why region 1 for old titles???? - Blu-ray Forum

Hi there,

I was wondering and disappointing that old titles (older than 1 year) arn't region free? I'm very interessted in "the day the earth stood still" (original version), but it is region one. Why? There space enough on those bluray dvd's for all that captures.

A Blu-ray is not a DVD. The proper term is Blu-ray Disc.

Also, Blu-ray regions are A, B, C. Region 1 applies only to DVD's.
