lol, let the fun begin!

lcd
plasma
dlp

if you have a kuro elite, then you can jump plasma ahead of lcd, but only with that series of plasma's

i think it definitely goes...

LCD
Plasma
DLP

i own a LCD and i love it. great picture and to the best of my knowledge seem to be the most durable. ive never really had any experiences with plasma, but my dad owns a DLP, which he bought for like 2 grand at the time lol. he has already replaced the bulb in it twice in like 4 years. imo that is ridiculous...

Best bang for your buck
LCD and PLASMA are both pretty close. Tough call.

In terms of PQ
Plasma
LCD
DLP

Huzzah, Jim, that's EXACTLY what I say when I get criticism of my TV here.

Well if you dont really have any experience with plasma why are u ranking it second?
LCDs are more durable but its not like plasmas are fragile. In either case, plasmas produce the better picture.

Well I would argue that plasma is better than LCD as a rule. However, obviously if your comparing a hugh end LCD to a low end plasma......

I have the Pioneer Elite PureVision plasma (the model before the Kuro) and I have to say, The only TV I have seen that looks better than it was my friend's Pioneer Elite Kuro.

considering most on this forum do not have a 5k+ tv, ( and yes you can get a kuro for less, but not an elite ), you would think lcd as a whole would win the vote...

many here are fan fav's of viera's....i've seen in store, and at a friends house... and i just dont get the rave reviews.. not saying they don't have good pq... but ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

maybe this should be based on price range

show me a 50ish plasma tv, for under 2k, that looks better then a sammy 650 120hz tv??

show me a plasma for under 3k , that looks better then the sammy 850?

show me an lcd for under 5k, that looks better then a kuro elite? Not gonna happen

dlp shouldnt be in this category.. it is a technology being phased out

What are you suggesting here? That most people are just gonna vote for what they have rather than whats best?

If we were voting on cars would most people say Hondas are the best because most people own those? No, they would say Ferrari or BMW or w/e.

We talkin best bang for your buck or best picture?

I was in my local Best Buy, and they went from having a dedicated section for rear projections to a small spot in the back of the store containing three sets. Crazy....

it depends on what you consider to be a great picture. personally, i don't like my tv to be bright and overly cartoonish, so i personally dont see the appeal to the samsung tvs, whether it be plasma/lcd/dlp. overall, based on what i watch everyday at work, i prefer the plasma over either, but some lcds, especially the sony xbr 6 and the mitsubishi 52149 are starting to gain my respect the more i see them. dlp has its benefits as well. the biggest bang for the buck award would probably just go to them or a front projection unit, only because of dollars/inch ratio. and dlp isn't being phased out, they are changing them from a bulb manufacturers best friend to the led units, so ill wait and see how they handle that transition, but for my personal rankings...

1. plasma
2. lcd
3. dlp

Im wondering what information backs up your dlp claim??

I think the only reason dlp does not have as much space in stores is because everyone thinks that flat screen is the only way to go.
I believe it is people going in uninformed and sales people do not understand the technology.
Tell me other than you've looked at a dlp and you don't like it what other research have you done on dlp technology??
I'm not saying it will not get phased out. I just believe no one understands what dlp is.
Kinda like hundreds of years ago everyone knew the world was flat and if you thought to the contrary you were ridiculed.
