Question How is vinyl flooring for a HomeTheater

What's the pluses and the negatives of vinyl flooring in a home theater.

One major concern is that it would reflect the sound.

Any help is much appreciated
Thanks in advance Philip.L.Ross

I would strongly stay away from it... Tile is the way to go, not only that looks much better. It also last longer and if you decide to sell your house, better resale value. Also it's really not that hard to do. I helped my stepdad tile the old house. Go down to Home Demo or Lowes and take a class thing there. Saves you a nice penny and something you can smile about. Also you friends can help, give them some beer.

I would go with carpet to eliminate reflections off the floor.

if you desire tile or wood flooring for other reasons
a really big rug will help the echo

I have wood flooring in my HT, and there's a very minimal echo. I thought that was going to be a problem, but it wasn't.

My guess is that your room may still be "too" live.

I personally love hard wood floors. I would put a nice rug in the central area where the speakers, TV, and seating is. To help break up the wood. But overall, I love it.
