Default Harry Potter in Trouble??

http://www.worstpreviews.com/headlin...=11456&count=0

I love this series. How can Warner Bros. have concerns over the most profitable franchise in movie history???

These next 3 installments are gonna make some serious bank regardless if the books are done.

What are everone else's thoughts on this franchise??? Like I said, I love the series and the books myself.

I wouldn't go as far as love but I do like these movies very much and would hate not to see the last two get done, but with how much money these movies make from a business standpoint it makes no sense for WB not go foward with them... I thought the goal was to make money and and what makes more than harry when the movies are released? They are usually #1 for a while

Very crappy article. The headline reads that Harry Potter is in trouble, and then does nothing to imply any of the movies are in jeopardy of being made or not.

"These movies may not make as much as the first few did" doesn't mean "Harry Potter is in trouble".

I like the Harry Potter movies as they are, but I think they should've treated movies 3 through 6 the same way as Peter Jackson/New Line did with Lord of the Rings. I would've been just fine with 4 hour versions of those movies on home video because the books just have too much content.

I'm glad that they're splitting the last one into two movies.

But seriously, back on topic, I doubt they're in danger. The sixth movie is coming out soon, all they have left to make is Part 7 and everyone knows that will make huge $ at the box office. They're just jumping to conclusions after Disney's decision with Narnia.

I thought the last two books were already made into movies. Rather, Warner is taking their time releasing the movie for book 6 (Summer 2009 release) and they split the last book into two movies (but already shot).

That does not spell trouble to me.

I believe shooting for the last two films takes place next year. Radcliffe has been in New York for the past few months performing Equus on Broadway and couldn't have shot any scenes for the seventh book. BTW, he was awarded the Broadway star of the year award from Broadway.com.

Although I see the HP movies when they come out.. I really don't expect much. Most of them are made to cash in on all the kiddies that crush on Dan Radcliffe and don't really know anything about the REAL Harry Potter and his world. The entire cast look like British models and there's no authenticity to the film's version of Harry's world... just a bunch of big actors with wizard robes on.

There's no way this franchise is in trouble. Saw this article yesterday and laughed. They are hedging their bet to have an excuse to blame lower ticket sales on something (rather than the bone headed decision of moving the release date 7 months). If they don't do as well, it's because there are no new books, if they do great, Warner's a genius at making the move with the date.

I wouldn't worry too much. WB is just money hungry and they are spoiled by the hitherto huge success of the released movies. They just worry that instead of a billion per movie that they'll only be making 5 or 6 hundred millions.
After all what do you think a man with money wants ? well, more money !

I agree, another typical B.S. internet article.

Weak. Harry Potter is gonna do huuuuge numbers. The last 3 films SHOULD be spectacular. Notice the caps on should because as long as they stay mostly true to the books they will be amazing.

I'm with you STARSCREAM! They will do the final three and people will love them.

My concern is for future "spinoff" movies. I don't want to see movies about Harry Potter's long-lost twin sister who lives in a galaxy far far away, Hagrid's life with his 12-foot tall wife and kids combing out his weave, or a prequel featuring a youthful love affair between Professor McGonagall (Maggie Smith) and Dumbledore.

"The real Harry Potter"? You know these are fantasy, right? ;-) And I don't see what you mean about the cast looking like British models. None of the cast is particularly good-looking--they're average and plain, for the most part.

In all seriousness, the first two films were fantastically loyal to the books. The third film was probably my least-favorite, mostly because I think Cuaron just did NOT understand the series at all and was only trying to cash in on the franchise. But Goblet of Fire was great and Order of the Phoenix was fair.

It's important to remember that as JKR advanced the series, the books got longer and longer, and it's impossible to turn an 800 pg book into a movie that would appeal to HP's biggest demographic. I know the die hard fans (like me) would like 100% loyal translations, but this is Hollywood we're talking about, not the BBC.

HP 6 and 7a/7b will make HUGE money in theaters, and BIG money on DVD and Blu-ray. Then maybe, if we're lucky, in about 10 years the BBC will do a ridiculously long "mini" series that best represents the books in their fullness.

The article is rubbish. Shame on that "reporter" for lack of research and lack of common sense

Typical media. They just write an article with no researching. This goes beyond movies IMHO. The sixth is made. It would be dumb not to make the last book a movie.
