Default I Really Like - Mortal Kombat Vs. DC - PS3

My wife gave me Mortal Kombat Vs. DC for PS3 this X-Mas...

I am only playing the story mode at this time, it is actually a pretty solid game and fighter. I have enjoyed Mortal Kombat III over the years.

I am not good at all on Mortal Kombat III, I know Cyrax, Sektor and Kabal... that is about it.

Anyways, after putting 45 minutes into story mode, I have to say... "good job" to Midway and Ed Boon... it is a pretty good game, the graphics are pretty decent, the control is spot on for me. I have to get a book with the moves (I know the moves are there when you pause) but I like having the moves in front of me... since I stink at fighters.

Anyone else pick up the game? I like it... so far!

So, you like it too...

It uses the Unreal Engine, I think it is actually pretty decent.

I was upset watching videos where you smash the ground up and it fixes itself, but while playing I do not notice while button mashing!

I'm loving the game. Wife gave it to me for my birthday and it's alot better than I thought it would be. The story actually really works well for me.

I found the story mode extremely cheesy. The voice acting terribly bad. And the plot pretty disappointing. I wasn't expecting amazing stuff but it really bothers me. The MK team really needs to hire professional writers.

Hey GGX, I have to disagree with you... I think the story is pretty decent. I am not into comics, but it feels right.

Both worlds collide when a rift on both worlds happen at the same time. It is similar to many Star Trek or Stargate type episodes...

It feels like a comic book... so yes... CHEESY, that it why I found it fun...

To each his own, I enjoy it... actually more than I thought I would...

i can do some of them, but yeah, they're hard as hell.

I do like how they incorporated the special moves into combos though, but i wish it was a tad easier.

Although short and a tad easy, I enjoyed the story mode. The only real trouble I had was with the final fight until I mastered the special moves necessary to ensure I would be slightly more evasive than a punching bag. The real problem with the kombo challenges is the lack of description on the symbols they use and the lack of description on the timed moves. It is stated that some require "expert timing" but then don't even give you a clue on the timing. More like expert guessing. I also did find the story and dialog cheezy but the graphics and overall game play definitely make up for that. I would have also liked to see more Mortal Kombat characters... like more Lin Kuei characters and Reptile. Overall a very fun game. Can't wait for the next release.

With Midways problems with money... I doubt they will patch it...

But I would love to see Cyrax, Sektor or Kabal... they are my favorites from the older games. I guess Luthor is Sektor and Cyrax mixed together, I just have to learn his moves.

My cousin brought it over last week and it was pretty fun. I enjoyed playing with Lui Kang..... but still it didn't make me want to go out an buy it myself though. Mainly because of two reasons:

1. I already own Dead or Alive 4 and it's 10x's better.
2. Street Fighter IV is coming in February.

Got MKvsDC a few weeks ago, but only just got a chance to play it over the holiday break. I really enjoy fighting games for their pick-up-and-play nature. Was a little disappointed you can't save your progress in "Story" mode (just seems like a glorified arcane mode with cutscenes if you ask me), but the game is solid and very fun. Unfortunately I'm not a skilled enough "Kombatant" to make it past Wonder Woman vs Kitana. She rocks my socks every time. =/

Actually I'm pretty sure if you quit story mode, when you start back up it will continue where you left off... I accidentally hit the wrong button at the continue screen and played again and it started where I left off.

I liked it too, but Shang Tsung's voice bothered me a lot. He sounded like a teenager going through puberty and he's supposed to be a badass. Also, I did complete most of the Kombo Challenges already so they're not impossible.

I got it for christmas, but haven't had time to play alot. I played it one arcade mode, only thing I figured out is that Im rusty and really suck. So Im gonna have to sit down and really learn the moves. It is fun though, but no fighting game will ever be as fun to me as Tekken. Tekken is king to me.

the best MK game since MK2... in my opinion. I just wish they would have not toned down the finishing moves so much but still a good game regardless!
