I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread where everyone could share specific songs with each other that they really like and think deserves everyone's attention. Being a music lover myself, I love discovering new music that I didn't know about previously.
So to get things started, my first song that I wish everyone to listen to is "Come What May" by Iced Earth. Aside from it being a kick ass song, it's got a great message and is sung with a lot of emotion! So give a listen and post your own personal songs you think others should hear. Howling: Tomoyasu Hotei It's purely guitar driven. Made me a fan of Tomoyasu Hotei automatically. Such an amazingly riffed song. So much emotion in the way he plays. I can almost sit back and listen to this all day. |

The ironclad classic:
Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven. I love the song so much, it was played during my wedding ceremony: the intro with the acoustic guitar and flute could be heard while we lit our unity candle. The link. Still an amazing song, almost 40 years later! I've got some others I can list later, but I'll let others play first. |

One of the best songs in the 90s, and certainly one of my favs that just never gets old to play, or to listen to:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bnq2w...eature=related Don't watch it for too long. Your eyes will pop out! Last edited by FendersRule; 02-10-2010 at 06:53 AM. |

![]() I've been playing guitar for 14 years, and I enjoyed this video. However, the things he does are all very simple, trust me on this. Prince certainly knows how to look awesome when he's playing the guitar, but I certainly wouldn't call him a guitar god. He's good for sure (and I think he's heavily overlooked), and I really think he knows how to pull his emotions from his guitar, but for technicalities, it's all easy stuff. ...maybe I'll link you to my video of me doing his purple rain solo... Guitar gods are slots reserved for Joe Satriani, Steve Vai. Meeklo- if you like Prince, you'll love Vai, he's very theatrical here and comes off as a super guitar master: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIahlvUu8Nw Listen to that whole thing, because it's like a big ride that just keeps getting more intense. That's a guitar god for sure from every standpoint! Last edited by FendersRule; 02-10-2010 at 07:09 AM. |

"Satch Boogie" - Joe Satriani
I agree with Fender. This is a lot better than Prince's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" solo. Satriani is a lot more virtuoso and skilled than Prince. Last edited by GLaDOS; 02-10-2010 at 01:04 PM. |

I can't possibly think of just one (in fact I could list hundreds that everyone MUST hear), so here's my new favorite:
Cory Chisel and the Wandering Sons -- "Born Again" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmSPYyJL7ZA Such a cool sound for a Wisconsin guy. |
