Default Quick Audyssey Question?

I have a Onkyo 606 and when using the Audyssey equalization Ihave always wondered what I should set the receiver volume to before starting? I set it at a comfortable level say, 45 and then run the setup. Then I will watch movies at 45 or maybe a little higher if it's early in the day and I'm alone.

Would I be better off setting the volume much higher and listening at a lower volume or would I basically receive the same results.

Thanks

same results, just make sure it's loud enough for the test tones from each speaker to reach the mic.

AFAIK, the receiver always outputs the tones at the same level.

Alright, Thanks guys.

Woody you may be right, I have actually never checked to see if that was the case.

The test tones Audyssey puts out are at a certain volume no matter what your volume knob it set to. Also any settings you may have done (tone control, gains, distances, etc) are all ignored while you are doing the calibration. Audyssey outputs the test patterns the exact same no matter how you have your receiver setup.

Ah, but the sub has its own volume and amplifier, so you'll want to set it at about 50% gain or so since that's probably where you'll have it in normal viewing.
