Default Cine Explore - Cars vs. WALL-E

I've noticed that Cars has been set up to use the Cine Explore feature to work with older BD players, such as mine (Panasonic BD-10AK), so that you can check out commentary and other extras.

WALL-E not only doesn't allow me to use the Cine Explore feature, but it seems I am unable to listen to the Director's commentary as well.

Is there any way to listen to the commentary without having to rely on the Cine Explore feature?

Not sure what you're saying about Cine-Explore. Are you saying that you can see the Cine-Explore on Cars? If so, it must be burned in and not true Bonus View.

As far as the commentary you should be able to cycle thru the different audio tracks on the fly and find the commentary. I think you can also select it from the menu.

I believe that the Cine-Explorer on "Cars" is compatible with profile 1.0 in that it utilizes the subtitle stream and isn't actual "picture in picture." However the Sleeping Beauty piece is profile 1.1 and is true PIP. Note the full motion picture inserts used on Wall-E and Sleeping Beauty...

Checked on the WALL*E disc earlier and it's a weird one. You can't switch audio on the fly. Whatever version of the film you pick from the main menu e.g., movie, cine-explore or geek fest, that's the audio you'll get and it's locked in. The only way to get the audio commentary from the cine-explore feature is to select that from the main menu.

That's a major screwup afaic. Bad Pixar/Disney
