any problems with WANTED locking up?? - Blu-ray Forum

I bought wanted on BD yesterday and in Chapter 9 it locks up. I cant skip ahead or anything. I can restart over and over and the same thing at every point in the movie. NOW here is the kicker, I took the movie back and got a new one.....same thing! The only other BD I have to try is Happy Feet and it works fine. Any help would be great. I'm heading to the neighbors house in awhile to try it in his PS3 and the other neighbor has a stand alone player I will try it in. I cant belive that I would get two disks that would lock up at the same point in the movie. I even updated my PS3 thinking that would help, nope.
I want to finish watching the movie...help!!

No problems for me except the audio starts a little before the video when the Universal logo loads the disc. Other than that nothing. Note, I have the UK region free version.

My player played it fine (Sony S350). It sounds like you need a firmware update to me, but I've never had a disc do that before, so I'm not sure.

If it happened for two discs in the same place, 99% chance it's the firmware for your player. All you need to do is go to the manufacturer site and download the updated firmware.

For me, I had freezing during the Incredible Hulk. However, after it froze I restarted the disc where it happened and it played fine so I knew it wasn't the disc itself. It froze three times before I could make it through the whole thing, but afterwards I checked and my firmware wasn't up-to-date.

I took the disk down to my neighbors house and it played fine on his PS3. I have updated the firmware on my PS3 and still nothing. sticks at the same point every time. I cannot even start the movie and try and go straight to chapter 10 it locks everything up and I have to back out and start over. I ran a disk cleaner through the player and everything. I guess I'll stick to SD for now.

I did have a freeze. Don't recall exactly where, but probably about an hour in. It was not repeatable, though.

My freeze is at the half way point in Chapter 9, about an hour into the movie. I am current on all updates with sony so I think I might just do a system restore and hope that I can download all my purchases I have made through the Playstation store. Boy this is alot of work for one movie!! Maybe I should just wait till I can call sony tech support and ask them.

I have the SAME problem as you do, last night watching wanted with friends, and it just FROZE. I also have the most updated firmware.

It also froze with Hellboy 2 when he throws the baby in the air. FREEZE. Exchanged that copy and FREEZE same spot.

I never had this problem with the other 200 blus I own.

Do you think the PS3 laser can get old and need replacement after too many viewings?

I have an S-350. My copy froze while viewing one of the supplemental features. Don't know what was up with that. The movie itself played fine.

I played Wanted lastnight , mine locked up when the boy was talking to morgan after shooting the wings off the flies and agian after at the point angie & the boy was going back to his apt. to get the gun out of the bathroom .Both times I had to shut down my player and kill the power to do anything & had to start the movie all over and go to scene select , My player Marantz BD-8002. have to exchange the movie , But also I had Hellboy II lock up too, so it has to be the blue ray disc. got to watch both movies , but still a hassle..

me too have Marantz BD8002 and Wanted lockep un at about middle of the movie. had to reboot machine off/on then played fine at the same chapter , then at the end credits froze again had to reboot off/on again, denon thread has the same issue whit Wanted and now this thread with PS3??? WTF????
