Default What blu-ray movies will eventually get "double dipped"

Hello

Nowadays its seems like studios like to re-release movies on dvd and or blu-ray(i.e Warner with 300, A Christmas Story, Troy). So I was wondering:

What movies on blu-ray do you think will eventually get double dipped(re-released)?

And what movies on blu-ray need to get double dipped(if any), be it for better pq, aq, director's cut, or whatever?

thanks

I'm gonna go ahead and say that most will be re-released (double dipped). They will always wanna re-release when a sequel is about to come out, to hype more special features, etc.

Studio double dips in the near future:

The Fifth Element (as the current one is bare bones)
Most Arnold Schwarzenegger films (as most current releases are bare bones)
Young Guns (as the current one is bare bones)
Rocky (current one bare bones)

Basically all of the above have been feature rich DVD's and will soon be double dipped by the studios. I'm sure there are many that I have left off the list...

Basically, I would say any major $$$$ movie especially if they skimped on the special features.

I think Warner will soon be re-releasing several movies that had standard audio options like Polar Express, Superman Returns and Unforgiven.

Sony would be doing it as well with several films.

I sure hope they will re-release "Live Free or Die Hard" in the unrated Version. Because the PG-13 Version is virtually unwatchable if you know the unrated Version. So with that movie I am all for re releasing

Terminator 2 will most likely be re-released.

There were like 4-5 different versions of T2 on DVD, so it will likely be the same on blu.

I really hope they re-do National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. It is just such a classic and the first time release on BD was disappointing. I have hope since they're re-doing Christmas Story.

Of those mentioned, these are the following I'd probably be getting.

Superman Returns (With Hi-def Audio)
All Paramount Re-Issues (With Hi-Def Audio)
THE AVIATOR and SUPERMAN RETURNS I didn't realize had bad audio. Which sucks because it took me forever to find the former. GANGS I really wanted to get, but when I heard how bad the PQ on that was, I decided to wait. LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD definitely unrated and as part of a re-issued DIE HARD COLLECTION. ROOCOP is a film I've only seen in pieces on TV. And I heard the Criterion Edition of that was pretty incredible, so if they could make a GOOD ROBOCOP Blu-Ray, that would be great.

There arn't that many Paramount titles I want. But I wouldn't mind if they double dipped BABEL so that it has actual features on it.

But one I'd LOVE to see re-issued on Blu-Ray is JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK. Almost none of the featurettes from the 2 disc SE was on it, so I'd like to see it redone properly.

Yeah and I already have the 1st releases of at least 14 titles on this list.

I heard Rocky had really bad pq and aq so fortunatley I never picked it up and I would prefer to buy a box set of it with hopefully better PQ. I have Superman I and II but not Superman Returns. I was looking to purchase Superman Returns soon but maybe I should wait. I should have waited on T2 but I bought it for like $9.99

Has anybody heard what Rambo Director's cut will have? How much difference will it be? And does anybody know what the rumored release date is? I just bought Rambo but haven't opened it yet, maybe I should return in and wait.

Ditto. As far as AQ goes there are a bunch of Blu Ray titles out there with plain old Dolby like all of the MI movies, the entire Ocean's trilogy, Goodfellas and so on.

Thank goodness WB at least changed their mind with Risky Business and is now going with a true HD codec -- hopefully this starts a trend. I have decided that unless it has an HD codec, I will not buy it.

Probably all the movies released in 2006 will be double dipped in 2009.

Some of the movies that I would also like to see released are:

Superman 2 the original filmed movie. The Donner version got rid of my favorite scene such as the terrorist scene in Paris.

Lots of Arnold Swartzeneggar Movies yet to be released. Such as the Conan Movies.

All of the Alien movies: Alien, Alien2, Alien3, and Alien 4.
Star Wars New Hope, Return of the Jedi, Empire Strikes Back.

A lot of the movies out there only released part 2 instead of both.

For Example Once Upon a Time in Mexico was released but not Desperado.

Hope the Classic Jean Claude Van Dam movies get released. Blood Sport, Kickboxer, Lion Heart, and others.

Warner Brothers - Batman movies.

Karate Kid, Karate kid 2, karate kid 3.

Most of the time the 1st movie is the best out of a series of movies. There are very few exceptions to this rule. So I wonder why the 2nd movie is a lot of times released before the first one.

I am sure a lot of people have gone through a situation like this. You buy a movie that is part of a trilogy and then you have to buy the whole box later with all 3. Then you are stuck with an extra movie. I wished there was an option to send in that extra movie that you have for a rebate. What should be getting done is to release the entire box set at once instead of releasing individual movies. It seems that when you buy the box set you are getting 3 movies for the price of 2 anyways.
