I bought a Dell inspiron 1720 with all the right options for playing Blu-Rays. However, when I bought the laptop the BD-ROM drive was over $500, so I decided I'd wait and upgrade later when the price of Blu-Ray came down.
Well, now, I called Dell and they said the BD-ROM drive for this laptop is only available at "point-of-sale". What kind of rediculous crap is that? The CD-ROM drive is obviously mounted for swapability. Why didn't they tell me that when I chose the CD-ROM option? So, I've spent nearly $2,000 on a laptop that won't even play a Blu-Ray disc. How bad is that? And I don't want to go out and buy another cheap laptop (that's only 15" and doesn't support 1920x1200 resolution). I like my 1720 with full high resolution that's perfect for Blu-Ray playback. Does anybody know were I can get a BD-ROM drive for this? |
