Haven't heard anything yet, but I hope Universal makes the announcement sometime this year. It's one of my favorite fantasy films of all time (second only to the LOTR trilogy)! And hopefully, they'll port over the extras from the 2-disc DVD ultimate edition onto the Blu-ray, including the theatrical and director's cut versions of the film.

I'd be nice if Universal did what Warners did and also release the European cut of the film, since it's a very different and fascinating cut when compared to the other two. Question: I thought there was a deleted scene with the Jack and the others whilie searching for Lili, bump into creatures in the bowels of Darkness' castle and fight them off?

Universal actually announced this on HD DVD (when they supported that format), and then cancelled it at the last minute. Rumor had it that they were only going to release the theatrical cut and Ridley Scott wanted both versions on the disc. Hopefully, the Blu-ray won't take as long as the DVD did.
