Blu-ray Guru

The original Blu-ray had compression artifacts and was below-par in the sharpness department. Apart from that, the transfer is pretty pristine, with little evidence of dirt or deterioration.
Fox just needs to use the original master and put it on a BD-50 disc without compressing it and with a better bit rate. It's not that hard. Then they can pop all the old special features on a second disc, maybe shoot an additional retrospective interview with Ah-nold, and voila -- everyone will be happy. All of the DNR'ing just makes for a seriously unbearable transfer... Anyone holding out hope that Fox will go back and try again? They say third time's a charm... |
