Interesting. Wonder if they'll give SATAM and Underground the same treatment if it goes well. (provided they're still owned by the same company right now)

Definitely an odd choice for a Blu-ray release lol. I bought the complete series DVD set that they put out a couple years and haven’t even watched it yet so I’m not sure how much of a priority this will be for me.

Would definitely love SatAM though!

Basically me lol. I don't think I'll upgrade, except I'd be able to source a new background for my Animation cel

Also a great chance for people who missed the Shout DVDs

Can anyone explain the difference between this and the other series? Seems a bit confusing. I recall watching both as a kid. One seemed a little more kiddy and the other was a bit darker? Is one better than the other? Which one do fans prefer?

It's the cartoonier one that ran on weekdays. The darker one was run on Saturday mornings.

This one is basically Looney Tunes slapstick and Max Fleischer surrealism filtered through a tamer Ren and Stimpy.

The extras might be better than previous releases. Other than that, having all the episodes on one or two discs is probably a selling point to somebody.

I have a bunch of animation cels and animation sketches. If I can scan them in, is there anyone I could contact to see if they can end up on this relese. It could be an interesting extra I suppose?

Definitely an odd choice. AOSTH was edited on SD analog tape and it's highly unlikely the film elements still exist since DiC didn't keep film elements for series that weren't edited/finished on film. I predict this will be SD on Blu or perhaps some crazy DNR'd AI upscale.

This will probably be some upscale, but nice to have it in print I guess? I didn’t grow up with the 90s Sonic cartoons (Sonic X was what we had when I was a kid), but I MIGHT be interested in SatAm if it’s dirt, dirt cheap.

They’re separate things. Adventures is comedic and goofy. Robotnik planned schemes and his robots always failed.

SatAm had an ongoing straightforward storyline about Sonic and his friends fighting to stop Robotnik and his rule over them. Most seem to prefer this one.

Underground was more like SatAm but was also a separate thing. Sonic and his brother and sister were searching for their mother.

Huh, interesting that they're releasing this on SD Blu-Ray. Didn't expect that. Wonder if they'll do the same with SATAM and Underground as well.

.....also is it too much to ask for a Japanese Sonic X set while we're at it?

This is awesome. I’m not really familiar with Diskotek but this showed up in my news feed today and it at least appears from the description that they really did this right, as a true labor of love. Good on them!
