Default Okay, who was a mall rat?

I went to the mall perusing used games looking for something to buy, and of course finding nothing that caught my interest, as I was leaving I saw the current group of mall rats outside smoking. Made me remember about 15 years ago when I did the same thing and how at the time it seemed sooooo cool. Now it's like, "Get out of my way, you're blocking the doors!". Times have changed so much too! They were all sitting in their school uniforms. I mean what self respecting mall rat would be caught dead in a school uniform? Well, other then the girls, they always wore that catholic uniform, but I don't think any of us guys cared. Those few that had to have uniforms stuffed clothes in their bags and changed at the mall. The rest of us were cool enough to go to schools without uniforms! Anyway, who will admit with me they were a mall rat and are STILL harassed by the mall rent a "pigs" 15 years later because you were banned once as a teenager.

Yeah its bugs the cr@p out of me. Especially when I see the 13 year old girls dressed up like 20 year olds in mini-skits. My god what the hell is happening.

No respect and you wonder why some people end up in jail... I find it when people dress like sluts it's a turn off. Then again if a guy dressed like that, that would odd. But I like style, preppy flamboyant look.

I feel as though I should be thrown in jail for looking in their general direction. Its also funny because at the outdoor mall we have, the teens (13-16) smoke cigarettes and think they are just so cool. HAHA they look ridiculous

But I don't want second hand smoke for going in the Mall. The worse are the ones that sit in front of the door or the ones that stop and stand in front of you. Then they act like you should go around, sorry I go through.

It's different when you are the same age they are. My "crowd" had people that did that, and it was completely different when you were the target of them dressing up like that.

I would slap the shit out of my friends if they dressed like that. Different if where going to a night club, but still we even dress with class, not to slutty...

I was never a mall-rat in the sense you are explaining. I was never a teenager either, I skipped those years, I never smoked cause I was weird enough to think it is harmful and I never hung-out in public places, I moved around in a non teen-threatening way.

I hate going to my mall. It's nothing but a bunch of thug-wannabes. Every time I go to the mall, I just want to put all of them in an arm bar because they look and act so ridiculous.

I was a mallrat back in the 80's. Between the theater, record shop, food court and game room(real gameroom, not these DDR expo's they are now), there was plenty to do during the weekend. Never really did the whole thug thing, we just hung out and spent money. The malls around here don't really have the thug problem, the malls have police sub-stations in them. Also if your pants are hanging below your waist or your hat is turned back or to the side your asked to leave. Cuts down on the riff-raff.

I wish that would happen at my mall. A police presence would change it greatly. Unfortunately, there are only a few rent-a-cops walking around, and they are all fat, out of shape, and seem scared to say anything to the kids.
