Default BD & The Police Combine to Blow my Sub! Woo-Hoo!

My 7-year old pioneer sub met the police bd "live in buenos aires" (aka "certifiable") and it simply couldn't handle it at the volumes i had requested.

enormously loud, without distortion, i watched most of the concert, and was ever-increasing the volume, pushing that envelope.

finally, four songs from the end, there was this horrendous slap/flap sound during the first verse of "roxanne." after further review, i determined that the sucker is trashed.

now i'm searching for a polk or inifinity, but am intrigued by this elemental design stuff, too.

Do yourself a favor and don't go polk for a sub...

You can easily repair your sub. It is more fun and rewarding than buying a new sub. I have blown subs in the past and repaired them. Check the Repairing & Upgrading Subwoofers thread. Also check post #2. There are a lot of good links there for buying drivers and parts.
