Not in store, only on Bestbuy.com will you get a price match, but you might be able to schedule it for store pick-up so it might be worth a try to ask customer service.

The short answer. NO. It has to be a brick and mortar within a given proximity.

best buy or bestbuy.com will not price match an online only competitor, period. if you have been successful at getting this to happen that's awesome, but every manager and bestbuy.com online sales supervisor ive talked to won't...they'll do other retail stores, but not online only stores. if anyone has an update on this or has gotten it to work multiple times please post!!

You can always try target.com, which usually has the exact same prices as amazon. (amazon actually supplies the movies for target.com).

I know my best buy does this just fine.

Great find. I will try to use the price match for my reward zone points. Do you get the price match from bb online or the store?

its definately worth a try. You can get lucky and get a manager that doesn't really care and will do it for you. In my local BB one manager has done it for me and on another time a different manager wouldn't do it.

You can get them to price match and B&M's online portion, the competitor MUST have the item in stock though or they will not honor it.

Really? That hasn't been my experience.

They happily took $300 off a TV that I bought last month. I came in two days later after finding a lower price elsewhere, and they credited that to me as well with no hassle whatsoever.

I guess it just depends on your local manager...

I haven't tried matching with Target.com. That'll be next on my agenda.

yeah some of the managers are weird and some know what they are doing it just depends on which one you go to but i think its the same way with any other company

First post and it's one quoting me... humm, you wouldn't happen to be a blue shirt or higher up would you?

When it comes to matching big ticket items, they will match with little problems, big ticket items are big money but for anyting else be prepared for those 15+ minute phone calls checking to see if they have the item in stock. Best-Buy acts like your committing a sin if you ask to have something price matched and get your 2% reward points... isn't the kind of the point of matching? a small kickback? If it wasn't for that I would have simply bought from the competition. Personally I'm done buying from BB... The hassle from the workers all over a next-to-nothing kickback isn't worth it to me. Matter of fact, treating me (an easy going person) like the enemy over the simplest things is why I won't buy from them unless I absolutely have to but in this wonderful era of the internet, I can spend those 15+minutes online finding a better deal... I have no problems waiting. I know one person don't matter to a corporate monster like BB and this is why I tell my family/freinds not to shop there.

I don't want to make this into a BB bashing thread but I'm positive Skyline signed up today just to hype Best-Buy up. I'm sure he works for them in some way or another. So far he looks like another third-party internet bee that's paid to give out good reviews. . . I could be wrong though

It's kinda funny, I just looked over Skyline's profile and noticed he's busy "Viewing Thread Best Buy Blu-ray Highlights: January 11 - January 17, 2009"

Coincidence? maybe

I have never had a problem price matching a single BD at best buy. If i dont have an ad, they will call over and confirm the price, but they always PM in the end.

And BTW, this is quite a hot deal! Sizzling!

so then don't turn it into a best buy bashing thread. maybe he just likes best buy, not all of us share in his.........joy.........but if he does and he has gotten them to price match for him with ease then awesome. let's not turn this into an attack on best buy thread though (as much as i'd like to, too )

You are.

I've been viewing the deal threads lately, because I just got a Blu-ray player for Christmas and am looking for good opportunities to grow my collection. I never shop at BB either, really, since they're grossly overpriced and have a worse selection than you can get at Amazon (Amazon prime is my friend).

That said, I'll shop at BB when I find a deal, and I've got some Christmas gift cards to burn there. That' why pricematching the BDs from target.com was appealing to me.

Thanks for all the attention, though. I'm flattered
