I heard an announcement that Star Wars is coming to Blu-ray by 4th quarter 2007 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the first film Episode 4. Anyone else heard this announcement.

Where did you hear this from? I didn't think Lucas would transfer is precious babies to bd till 2009!

Believe it when I see it territory.

Star Wars is going to be that often-repeated HD disc rumour, as it was for MANY years on DVD.

they are releasing "new" ones this xmas but i doubt theyd shock us and give us blu-ray by this xmas ... id be happy with just one episode in blu

The 30th anniversary was in May. I think we have a better chance at seeing a real, operational Death Star in our lifetime than SW on BD.

Lucas is too busy counting his money from Episode 3 merchandise. I'm sure when he's done he'll find time for BD projects.
