This question is actual to parts.
Where does everyone find out what is available in steelbook? In the US we are cheated and have to import any steelbooks. I just recently imported Wanted and The Dark Knight on steelbook and wanted to get others but really don't know where to look except amazon. and the second question is do you collect them and not open them or right into the player it goes? Thats mostly for the other cheated US customers. |

i thought it was a North America thing, but that's not the case as Future Shop up here in Canada has tons of Blu-ray steelbooks. take a drive up to Toronto (and drop by my place for a visit ![]() almost every new release BD i look at on the site has a regular edition, CE and Steelbook edition (which sometimes is the CE) |

I found another thread making reference to Steelbooks and I asked about them. I was completely ignored by that group, maybe they didn't like me.
![]() I always thought that the regular plastic blue cases were lame and had no idea that there was an option. I understand that that some Blu-rays are released in metal cases, that those cases are not released in the US and that they can be purchased from Canadian websites. Am I right? What I don't know is: Are Canadian Blu-rays playable in my american Sony S350 and S550? Which sites sell the steelbooks? Are they coming from other countries, and if so, are they also fully compatible? Please don't leave me hanging, I want to know more about Steebooks ![]() |

All Canadian blu rays will play on USA machines. The artwork will probably have some French on it though. Usually on the back.
European blu rays are 50/50. Some will work, some will not, some will have features that won't work but you can watch the main movie. Obviously if you buy from Sweden its going to have swedish on it. UK will obviously have only English. http://bluray.liesinc.net/#bruk Click on that website and then select region B (Europe, Australia) to see what Euro titles are compatible with USA players. USA is region A which has Japan, Hong Kong, Canada as its region partners. |
