USA Lego Star Wars : The Empire Strikes Out

Why is this getting only a DVD release and not a Blu-ray release?

Basically because its only 21 mins long! I've pestered fox and they are saying no to a blu ray for this, yet some sites are saying there will be one. Considering this has been out for the past few days in Australia, all the point of sale has no Blu ray. And with the DVD and figure in hand, I can't imagine a 21 min blu ray really selling.

But we got a blu-ray combo for Padwan Menace (which I bought).

Because, as much as I love Disney, sometimes they're cheap.

Now that Disney is in firm control of Lucasfilm, expect fewer Blu-ray releases of the Star Wars' properties.

I recently watched my DVR copy of this program. It's mildly funny, though I liked the first Lego spoof better.

I cannot believe we didn't get this on Blu-ray but we got The Padawan Menace, and the Lego Batman feature from WB, even though it mostly was recycled cutscenes from the second Lego Batman game, which is a shame as I expected original content a la the two Lego Star Wars features.

as much as a fan of bluray as i am... there are some things i feel don't "need" a bluray release; this being one of them. i watched a nephews copy on my hdtv and it looked pretty good to me for a kids 20 minute cartoon.

another example is some tv shows, i have seasons 1 and 2 of Duck Dynasty on DVD, and am 100% satisfied with it, there is no bluray version (at least not yet...), and i'm ok with that - not losing sleep.

but on the other hand, i'll be darned if i'm going to watch spiderman, or transformers, or star trek on DVD ever again! pick our battles i guess

It just bothers me because the first Lego Star Wars special got a BD release... so much for consistency. I was a nice surprise the first time around... one everyone expected to be followed up on. And I will take anything I can get on BD over DVD, especially these. More of John Williams score in HD, higher resolution to enjoy the animation/design, and more space for extras... I just wish we had this one on Blu-ray. I really hope that Season 5 of Clone Wars gets a Blu-ray release, if not... that would be ridiculous.
