Default Looking for a new TV

I'm getting about $2500 back from my taxes so I'm looking for a new TV for less than $1500 the Samsung LN40A650 40-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV with RED Touch of Color is $1100, Does the touch of red get distracting? Or the Sony Bravia XBR KDL-40XBR6 is there a better 40/42 in TV?

Well for me I watch the screen not the frame

Both are very good TVs & both are about the same, you can not go wrong with either set.

+1 You really can't go wrong either way, I would prolly go with which ever my gut says, and if that is tied in knots, which ever was cheaper.

he's in the LCD part of the forum, so he probably isn't looking for a plasma.

The red touch of color isn't distracting at all. If you're in a totally dark room you can't even notice it at all.

Get the 46inch if you're willing to pay 1500. It's usually right around that price on amazon, that is where i got mine from.

I have the 52" LNA650 and I love it. Much better deal than Sony XBR6 IMO. I don't really notice the TOC red.

Both a very good TVs as others have mentioned. But if you're willing to spend $1500 on the TV, get the 46" 650 instead. Priced attractively for $1470 on Amazon now.

TOC isn't distracting at all for me, I really like it although the floating glass bezel for my XBR4 is a bit more attractive imo.

Honestly, unless the sun is shinning directly on the TV you really cant notice the red in the ToC Samsungs. In dim room or in the evening you can't notice it all, same goes for at night...

Get the 46" though! Big difference between the 40" and 46"! Might as well spend the little extra... JMO

Check my HT Gallery for pictures on my LN-46A650 in a room with 6 windows...
