Default Accepting Amazon Gift Cards as a payment method???

If someone pays you with an Amazon Gift card online ( emailed ), is it possible for the sender to "chargeback" or cancel the gift card after its sent?

I don't think so, but spend it before he does. I would not accept it...

I am not a fan of them at all. I guess if the person buying them does a chargeback , Amazon has to eat the loss I perfer paypal but i will use them in cases of international buyers so I dont have to worry about paypal claims

Is it because you'd rather have the cash in hand rather than credit? Or because Amazon GC is not a reliable or safe way to secure a payment on an item sold?

(Sorry to butt into the conversation ixlegitballinxl, hope you don't mind) .

Good to know, curious questions. Where you trying to rip him off, or had a good reason?

As soon as they send it, enter the code and apply it to your account. It becomes yours. Amazon wants to be in the payments business. If people get screwed, the venture won't succeed.

This is exactly right. Once the code has been redeemed on an account I do not think there is any way for it to become invalid.

Doesn't seem too bad...once the GC amount is verified in your Amazon acct, should be good to go.

Seems like it's more of a risk to buyers...if the seller doesn't come through on their end you're screwed out of any possible refund/claim!

Only negative from a seller's point of view that I can see is that it isn't cash in hand/bank acct.

May use it as an option for payment if I decide to sell a couple of titles in the future.

Thanks for the info all and thanks to the OP!

well..I traded a game with a guy on another site...but, I couldn't find the manual, so I sent him a $5 GC to cover to cost of the manual...he then left me negative feedback for not including the manual..in a fit of rage I contected Amazon and asked them to refund me the giftcard, but, unfortunately, it had been used...oh well...

Its because I get more than I use from my Visa rewards for Amazon.com each month and I just dont need anymore unless I have to. I did use them once with an international buyer who wanted a steelbook. It worked fine as he got what he ordered and I got the card with no worry of a claim
