Cool Does anyone else piss their money away? [Share your unhealthy spending habits!]

Hey guys! So I just started this blu-ray phase not too long ago... I got my TV/PS3/HT Sound System about a month ago and have quickly amassed to 75 blu-rays and counting... I think this addiction is driving me nuts (not to mention that free Amazon.com Prime Membership Trial). The addiction to buying blu-rays continued up until recently when my brother got me a free 3-month membership to Netflix (where I can rent 3 blu-rays at a time). I needed to take a break from buying so many blu-rays and little gadgets for my home theater system. I actually did pause buying blu-rays (it's been 3-4 days since my last purchase) only to find myself purchasing this:

The first watch is a Tag Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph, and the second watch is a Movado Luno Stainless Steel Quartz.

Does anyone else have insane spending habits that they need to curb?

Let's see,

pinball machines
arcade games
guns
Game consoles
horror memorabilia

But they don't need to be curbed, they're "investments".

Blu Rays, Tattoos, Concert tickets, and somehow, somewhere along the way I must have become a bit of a sneakerphile because I seem to buy a pair at least once a month. it's crazy..Love em but don't really NEED them...

You're asking people on a forum dedicated to a high-end niche product if they piss their money away....

what do you think?

Watches (Seiko, Bulova) - Jerseys (NFL) - Blu rays - now A/V equipment.

But proud to say not a penny in debt - I don't spend money I don't have!

Watches - Seiko and Omega mostly. Just got the new Seasmaster Planet Ocean by Omega. I own 8 Seikos and 4 Omegas total.

Food... lots of money on food.

Clothes. I buy a lot of clothes... and not like the kind of junk that most kids wear... I am on first name basis with the guys at Harry Rosen here in Ottawa, so it gets expensive.

I am far too materialistic

i tend to buy a lot of Amp (energy drink) in the morning before work. 2 or 3 a week @ $2 each adds up after a while.

other than that, i do pretty well keeping myself in check. i'll let the wife splurge once in a while so that way when i do, she can say anything.

i don't get the whole watch thing that men have. its not 1910, you have a clock on your computer, stove, cell phone, pda, playstation, etc. why do you need one on your wrist?

Why do women buy jewelry? Why do people modify their cars when they already work? It's a collectible hobby... and watches are also jewelry, not just for telling time.

An important man wears a watch.

I even have a nice screensaver clock. But I agree with you. Nowadays with the over-redundancy of clocks in every and any appliances, why have a wristwatch for ?

I see that there are some other watch collectors on here...
I love my Tag and my Breitling

Daily watch is a Citizen Blue Angels Titanium - it is light and is great when I travel for work keeping the time in 24 different time zones with a push of a button.

I have my eye on a Seiko. I beat my Fossil to death at work. It keeps good time and looked expensive at one time. I have a titanium skagen as well but I never wear it.

I have too many hobbies. Motorcycles, A/V, Xbox.... I spend a lot of money at Express anymore as well. I keep myself in check really well though. I'm tired of renting and only being able to turn up the surround a little so I'm putting money away for downpayment on a house.

That is a good statement right there.

Personally, I don't buy high-end watches anymore ever since a Bulova was stolen out of my apartment by the maintenance guy (retrieved by the police).

However, I buy blu-rays and PS3 games like they're going out of style. Plus, I do spend quite a bit on hockey tickets for my wife and me.
