Default I get my Kogan Blu-Ray Player tomorrow!

Hey alls,

I'm stoked to be getting my Kogan player tomorrow. Amazon here I come (hope the wife doesnt see the bills!).

Should had it last week but I wasn't home. It's getting delivered at work, might ask the projectionist to hook it up to the digital projector. I'll pop in Halloween (78) and Evil Dead II after work...

Can't wait!

WM

DVD region free or bluray region free? (Both?!<evil grin>)
Please let us know how you make out.

The 1.1 refers to the bluray spec.
From what I can tell it is not a BD-live player.

Are the two disks you are trying from different regions?
If so which ones?

Lightbulb

- v1.3 refers to the HDMI-spec, not the BD-profile
- The BD-profile is 1.1
- It has 5.1 analog outs (not 7.1)
- It is region(zone) free for A and B only, like many other players modified by www.BluRayMods.com (The Pioneers and the Panasonics are the only ones including zone C, see their website)
- The region(zone) switching for BD is manual (just like the ones from BluRayMods), but the region setting for DVD is automatic (AFAIK; warrenmoney, can you confirm this?)
- Internal decoding for TrueHD and DTS-HD(HR), but NOT for DTS-HD-MA (please confirm!)

Specs here: http://www.kogan.com.au/shop/kogan-b...full-hd-1080p/
User testimonials here: http://www.kogan.com.au/testimonials...hd-1080p/more/
Review (redundant I know) here: http://www.cnet.com.au/dvdpvr/blu-ra...9293969,00.htm

Wow. Kogan is the new Oppo. I hadn't heard a thing about this. Thanks!

I'll have to pick one up when my LG dies. Will it play AVC-HD discs?
