Default How much does it usaly cost to calibrate 2 TV's Plasma/Dlp? $700 sound good?

I had gotten a price of $700 Does that sound about right to you? is it worth spending that much, is the Picture going to be that much better? Am I going to have to get it done every couple of Years? thanks

Yeah, actually I have. Since I own my own business, I just swapped services. My service, for his. I ended up paying "nothing" but "labor", thank you very much.

And if you are talking with a good calibrator, he could cut off $50 or so when doing multiple TV's. I hope Best Buy isn't doing this, are they?

Probably didn't need to, with a $700 price tag blocking the view.

$350 a piece, get it right.

Hmm, I wonder if your the only living soul that has dished out the money for calibration and ended "hating" the end result.

No Way! A major waste of money. You would be better off getting calibration suggestions off of the internet and buying blu's or other things that you want. Or look elsewhere to get you calibration and spend less.

Yeah, those calibration settings, that only a "calibrator" can get into..

Quality calibration cost $$$, trust me. If you have the money, and expect a quality picture, go ahead and spend the money.

I would recommend getting one TV done at a time, because a quality calibrator will take 4+ hours a TV.

These guys saying "no, no, no", don't know a clue about proper calibration.

absolutely right. there's a reason a proper calibration costs so much. there's a lot involved.

You're not just using someone's settings you found on the internets because it looks good in their house.

I paid $450 for my DLP calibration and that was well worth it to me. The difference between my settings via Avia/DVE and the ISF calibrated picture was jaw dropping.

Keep in mind DLPs cost most to calibrate than LCD/Plasmas.

+100

I have to laugh at some of these comments from folks that have no clue what a properly calibrated set looks like. Well worth the ~$300 or so. Why must folks who don't know what they are talking about insists upon making ignorant statements like that? I'll never understand.
