Default Pioneer VSX-1018AH-K Receiver

As some of you know, I'm in the hunt for a new Reciever. I have it narrowed down to the Onkyo and Pioneer. I really like the Pioneer 1018 for the price, but that Onkyo 806 keeps haunting me. I was also wondering whether I should wait for the new models to come out from Pioneer...if it might make a difference.

I'm also looking to bi-amp until I have more money to get some Surround Back speakers.

Pioneer 919, 1019 or 1018. Get the cheapest.

I owned the 1018 for about three weeks until I traded it back in for the Elite VSX-01. That was when the price was higher and I decided to go for the longer warranty and the backlit remote. At today's price the 1018 is an absolute steal.

As for Onkyo, I know there are alot of fan's out there, and I have owned Onkyo receivers in the past, but the heat issue that I kept reading about really bothered me.

Should be able to get a good deal on the 1018 once retailers start clearing them out to make way for the newer models.

I have an 806 and haven't encountered any issues with it. I've tried to duplicate the blue dot or PQ issues you read about......but mine performs flawlessely. Bang for buck, one of the best out there. Just my opinion. Mid-year I'll purchase an Emotiva amp to add some real horsepower.

Yeah, I was ecstatic until I saw it only has 2 HDMI inputs I need at least three. I will probably just get the 1018 unless there is an awesome deal near my bday next month
