Default anyone have the dirty harry collection?

Hey guys, I just saw Gran Torino, and it was absolutely phenomenal.

All i want to do is watch Eastwood...now, I am young, and while I have seen many Eastwood movies (and enjoyed them all to my recollection), I have not seen any of the 5 dirty harry movies.

so, if you have the set....how do you like the packaging, how do you like the movies, and how do you like the quality?

I have the collection and it is excellent. The packaging is sturdy; however, the movies do not come in individual/standard blu-ray cases. The PQ is very good for all of the films! The first three Dirty Harry movies are great. Probably #4 Sudden Impact is my least favorite.

The packaging is the same size as a DVD box set and the movies are on two fold out cases. 2 movies on one and 3 on the other. It also comes with a hard cover booklet with info on the movies themselves and a really cool fake police badge wallet.
As for the movies themselves, WB did a great job of not messing with them ( I mean EE and DNR ). They are an awesome HD representation of films. Yes, there is grain, but that is not a bad thing. I definitely recommend them to any Clint Eastwood fan.

I'm a big Eastwood fan, and the Dirty Harry collection was one of my first Blu-ray purchases. I wish more Eastwood movies would come out on Blu.

my ranking of the DH films:

1. dirty harry (i was born the week this was released)
2. sudden impact
3. the enforcer
4. magnum force
5. the dead pool

i don't hate any of them, but #5 has some pretty embarrassing moments in it.

#1 is a masterpiece.

Dude, you are definitely missing out. I am a huge eastwood fan, the dirty harry collection is well worth it! They are all consistently good, though the 5th one is arguably the weakest link, but eastwood at his 'worst' is still eons better than any of today's mediocre tinseltown star at his/her best.

Not the greatest packaging but the movies more than make up for it.

Grand Torino has a lasting effect, it's not easily forgettable. It's one of those movies that I keep thinking about even though it's been a few weeks since I've seen it. The Reader has that lasting effect too.

Thanks or the reminder about the Dirty Harry films. I am going to check some prices.

Thumbs up

The Ultimate Dirty Harry Collection was a birthday present for me from my sons. I am so easy to get stuff for now that I am a Blu-ray junkie. For Christmas I got the Ultimate Matrix Collection, the James Bond two 3-packs, and the Ultimate Planet of the Apes Collection.

But back to business: the Dirty Harry Collection is fantastic.

Heck I watched all 5 movies within 2 weeks and actually watched most the extra features.

You will not be disappointed. This set is one of my favorites!

My personal favorite Dirty Harry movie is Magnum Force! But I love them all!

PQ/SQ is good on all the movies. Not a fan of the packaging, but I can live with it.

I want it! I sold both my 'Clint Eastwood Collection' & Creative Design Arts DVD sets just so I could upgrade to this set, but its still too expensive.

Don't forget to look for a young Jim Carrey in The Dead Pool.
