Sr606 Help! Multi Chan...

So I just sat down to try to watch Pineapple Express and it started and all of a sudden I got low voices and instead of it just saying HDMI and PCM over top the game/tv it now says multi chan...

all my settings seem to be the same in the listening modes JW if anyone could help me out

What type of player do you use? I have a PS3 with a 705 and that is what my display says when I watch blu's.

what part was it were the voices were low because I had this problem too and I was listening through the TV's speakers.

Do you have a center channel speaker? Multichannel is sending 5.1 audio so there needs to be a center channel as that is used primarily for the vocals/speech.

no just the two bookshelf ones...




this^^ is from when I first got it only had the dsp, pcm, and hdmi displayed, now it added that multi chn and the only way the sound comes back is if I set it to all ch ster from the remote(but it still says the multi ch)

You pretty much answered your own question here. You are sending out multi channel audio (5.1) to stereo speakers (2) To fix this you need to open the players options and set the output to be 2 ch or purchase a 5.1 setup.

ps3 but at the moment only have two nakamichi speakers hooked up since I haven't set my 5.1 up yet...

I know its not that because since the day I got it hooked up my tv vol has been at 0



it goes back to normal if I change the settings to all ch stereo but it still says multi chan like on the picture. would I still be getting my hd sound thru all ch stereo?

ok...the voices got real low when Franco was in his place in the beginning talking about the Pineapple Express weed.

yeah no there is an opening scene from like the 30's and like you can see his voice moving and like whispers coming from the speakers but then if I switch the settings w/ the movie button on the remote and put it on all ch ster it comes back blasting but it still says multi Chan.
