Default Need Some advice about which TV to settle on.

Hey Guys, I've been having a frustrating time as to what 32" inch tv to settle on for the bed room, i've been trying tvs from walmart for a while get one tv bring it home calibrate it use it for a day or 2 and have returned it for various reasons. I've narrowed the search down to 2 models I have a vizio 32" 1080p tv that accepts 24p input but does not support control for hdmi (minor detail)

Contrast ratio 65,000:1 it's a great deal

Then I found a sony when i got groceries tonight that's a 720p/1080i tv 32" for a few dolors less then the vizio has a contrast of 100,000:1 Is it possible for a 720p tv to do 1080p/24? this doesn't make sense which tv would you suggest I settle on? the main issue with the vizio i have is i can't set my other remotes to control the TV, the manuals don't have a vizio code for it. other then that i'm completely satisfied, as far as contrast as far as an lcd goes and a dynamic contrast, will i get true blacks? It seems with any lcd in the dark, it doesn't always look as dark as it does during the day. the backlight always seems to shine through at night.
