Animated Avatar - Blu-ray Forum

Ahh, I'm trying to use an animated avatar. I know we can't upload an animated .gif file directly on our User CP, however, it was my understanding that we could use one if it was stored on an external server or somewhere on the internet. Anyhow, this doesn't appear to be the case either, I can't even reference a URL to an animated gif as I get the same "You may not upload animated images" error.

Can someone assist?

vBulletin limitation. Probably because it can be anything between fun/nice to extremely annoying

It's more than likely turned off. Usually animated avatars (or animated pics for that matter) are GIF's. That specific file type can be disabled.

vBulletin allows it - it's just not enabled here
