Hello,
I have an old velodyne VA-1012-B-forward firing 10", passive downfiring 12". Class A/B 60 Watts RMS. What I'm wondering is, on my Onkyo 818 Audessey reference levels puts me at about 2.75 gain. Newer subs in the 400-750 dollar range seem to have anywhere from 250-500 watts give or take. So, if my gain is not even at 3, how is this more beneficial if the system is already limiting the refrerence level to a low gain setting? I'm a assuming more headroom, but just wanted to know benefits of upgrading. I had the entry level SVS PB1000 it did not find that it was much of an upgrade-this was only a demo by the way. Thanks. |
