Default Panamax M5300-PM & Monster Cable MK3600

Hi All,
Im thinking to purchase one of these power conditioner. But im not sure which one i want. Ive seen a lot of good reviews on Panamax more than Monster. Is it really worth it to get one of these? Or I'm better off with something around $50? Please adivse.

Thank you

It totally depends on how much you want to protect your gear. For me I probably have around $10,000 worth of gear so spending 500 on insurance is worth it to me. I know lately since we've been having odd lighting strikes I feel better that my gear is connected through the panamax.

As far as monster or panamax? Well I can't tell you want is better (honestly I don't think you can go wrong with either) but, for me I chose the panamax and I couldn't be happier.

I have a Panamax and couldn't be happier actually I have 5 of them throughout the house. I think their build quality and technology is better than the Monster brand. After all power regulation and conditioning is all they do.

How about an APC H10 for less than half the price. APC is an excellent brand and has been around for ages and I have had excellent luck with all their products

I would personally never buy a Monster product, because I don't like their business practice of suing every small business out of existence that has the word "monster" in the name.

Some people say they see a difference in PQ,and some say their AQ has improved to. then theres some that say there is no difference when you use these. look, dont go buying these things expecting a major leap in PQ/AQ. im not saying they dont work, they do. but dont hope for to much. if theres nothing wrong with your power, and your tv is not giving off any visible noise or flicker, then dont expect to see an improvement. i had that problem and when i got the 5300 it went away. i returned though because as i said i was expecting way much more. i had it for one day. i do want it back now though haha.

So the bottom line is yes they do work by giving your equipment 100% clean power.

Get the APC H15 for 169.49$ at BuyUptime, you can't beat this!

Don't expect improvements for digital video signal on fixed pixel displays. However for everything analog you can expect subtle improvements...

It mostly provides protection in the digital world..
improve the pic / sound... only if you have major electrical problems

Good for you...

Personally, I didn't even test the before/after change but as I've read many professional reviews of power conditioners by Doug Blackburn in Widescreenreview, he always points out he detects no differences in video image quality with digital video sources and digital video displays.

Yea he doesn't see it but what about you?

Anyway as i said, the difference is not big so it really doesn't matter.

Was he having problems before? what i mean is people want to see a better picture with these things but if your PQ was fine to begin with your not going to see a change. thats what i think anyway.

I ONLY use Panamax at my place. If you are looking at a M5300PM, for a bit more you can get the M5400PM which adds voltage regulation. Non-voltage regulation power conditioners disconnect for under & over voltage, but the M5400PM keeps you within 115 to 125 volts at all times. The bad thing about under voltage is that your gear will draw more current, hence your gear will get hotter and shorten its lifespan. Too much voltage is not good either. After 8pm my power hits 126 to 128 most nights, though in the summer when many people are using air conditioners, my voltage will drop to 111 or 114.
I had a M5400EX prior and voltage regulation was the reason for my upgrade.
If you are really on a budget the M10HT-PRO is a great unit and has a feature that does not even show up until you hit the M7500-PRO at $1999. The M10HT-PRO has 2 banks of 2 isolated digital ultrasonic noise filters, the only other model in the Panamax line that offers those is the 7500-PRO. The M10HT-PRO also has 6 linear filtration outlets (the same as all the PM series for filtration). The M10HT-PRO at $170 has basically everything that a M5100PM other than the 2 high-current outlets, voltage meter, USB charger & ethernet. This is because the M10HT-PRO is a Furman model, and when Panamax purchased Furman in 2006 they moved that model over to the Panamax line and then discontinued it as a Furman. Though I prefer the black finish of the Panamax more than the gray Furman look.
