Gaming Headsets !!!

Well Guys I Went To see My brother over the weekend and he showed me That he had purchased some headsets for gaming Turtle beach x1.He said how amazing they were for gaming.I tried them out and they were pretty good i can hear enemys on cod4 excatly were they were coming from.
He says they are better then the 5.1 system he has.So I tested it and it was not as good as the headset,Iam I the only one able to find that this is hard to believe?He has a good system pioneer 1018 with polk audio setup all around.Now Im debating to buy some headsets.

No, same thing happened for me. Granted I have a 360, but when I purchased Turtle Beach X4, i became markedly better instantly. I also have a nice 5.1 set-up but it is much easier to isolate the location of sounds in the 5.1 headphones.

Ya cause with the headsets On I can hear them running around and they have dead silence.Im debating between the Turtle beach x4 and the tritton ax360 pro

I picked up the X4 back in sept and it took awhile to get used to them being I used my surround sound to play on my 360. I don't think they are "better" but they are a great solution for playing games after dark, not to mention you pick up ambient sounds easier and more distinguished. Dead Space was awesome and right now fear 2 is making my pulse pound when I have these on. They work great for FPS too.

My only gripe is that you're supposed to hear your voice in the headsets to avoid yelling and I can't really hear myself. I don't know if it's just my set or they tweaked the X4s in general

I use X3 and the voice vol control is on the part that connects to the controller and make sure the mike is close to your mouth.
I've had mine for a year now and love em.

The chat volume control on mine is always maxed and I still can't hear myself in my headphones. I know the X3s was more audible when it came to hearing yourself. I don't know if it's my headset or the X4 in general. But that's my only gripe.

X1's are great, My only beef is the 15 ft of cords you have to deal with...
