I never saw his remake and I don't intend to. Some movies just shouldn't be remade IMO and Halloween was one of them. Who here liked/disliked the first? Are you excited about a second? Last edited by Sussudio; 03-26-2009 at 11:59 PM. |

I didn't care for the first one, but from the early pics I've seen and listening to Zombie's last few comments I get a little more intrigued each time.
I like the fact though that it isn't a direct sequel. It can be a fresh take on old characters. |

The remake was alright, nothing great. I mainly own the BD for the 4 hour making of doc, which is a pretty neat watch. As for John Carpenters theme, isn't it just a rockin' albeit crap version of it in the Halloween remake?
The sequel could be interesting. |

That is definitely one man's opinion. I have been a fan of his for over a decade it depends on how you like your music and your movies. Hey I'm the first guy to tell you I bash movies and people on here all the time and those are my opinions, you don't like him and I happen to really enjoy his stuff. His movies upon first viewing I haven't always gotten right away, but with repeated viewings they definitely grew on me, and I really learned to enjoy his movie making style, just saying sometimes you gotta see something or hear something more than once to have a true opinion.............unless that movie involves Ben Affleck and than it can just be avoided entirely or will suck more with each viewing....

I will see it at midnight lol. Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 OH WAIT I mean House of 1000 corpses had its moments but ultimately was a copy almost directly of a certain movie....lol...Devils Rejects was my favorite thing that he did completely original and all his own doing. Halloween (Rob Zombies) was not on par with the original but for what is was I enjoyed it very much and I liked the Michael Myers in his movie being more of a monster and brutal than he was stalker creepy in the original. This new film will be interesting it can go either one of two ways...Lets hope its the brutal intense unstoppable Myers and not some kinda of metal game to try to get him to turn normal or some crap like that. I hope he can explain how Myers survived being shot in the head as well, cause I am curious myself as to that.

The problem is Zombie is incapable of making anything scary. He can make something intense but doesn't know how to make a suspenseful movie. His films, especially Halloween, lack any subtlety. He spells everything out for the audience, leaves no room for ambiguity (which was what made Michael Myers so compelling in the first place) and cast a pro wrestler as his villain.
Watch Hollywoodland. Its the only film that I can recall him actually putting effort into. Anything else he'd done up to that point I really wouldn't call acting. |

i've heard good things about good will hunting as well. and bounce is pretty good. ben affleck is not as bad an actor as people make him out to be.

you're right on that. i don't care for rob zombie's music (if you can call what he does music) or his movies. in his movies he's just too gory and out there for my taste. less is more often times. |
