Isnt it already out in England? I hear its Region Free - but price on Amazon is 25 pounds sterling (lol, is that how its said?), and I'm not shelling out $50 to buy it.

Its supposed to be quite good though.

Will go and watch the movie right now on Blu-ray. I'm also a big war-movie fan and love that MGM have started to release movies again. They have lots of good movies in their catalogue.

The disc is region free (have tested it myself) and can be ordered from SendIt:

Anyone try the UK Days of Glory on region A PS3? The movie plays, but the special features won't play. Didn't know if anyone else has encountered this.

Yes I have it... It is working in region A & It is good movie and PQ is quite good. I haven't finished watching it as I recently got 30+ movies in the past 2 weeks, but at least I have checked and it works.....

It plays fine on my region A PS3. I did not have any troubles with the special features either. Don't know if these could be in PAL and therefore have trouble in a Region A PS3 from USA but my region A PS3 from Hong Kong can play PAL sources also even if it's a NTSC version like the US PS3. Don't know if it also could be the TV that might have trouble with PAL if the PS3 would output PAL. My projector handles both PAL and NTSC.

The main movies on Blu-ray are never PAL or NTSC becuase it's always 1080p (or 1080i in some rare cases).

I haven't seen the movie in 2 years, and I've had the UK import forever - maybe I should give it a shot again.

I disagree: Unfortunately Alliance, managed to miss the boat on that one too. As usual there are no extras whatsoever, a constant with Alliance, which is why I tend to avoid them as much as I can (which is not easy because I live in Montréal). To top it off, the incompetent person in charge of subtitles didn't provide French subtitles for the arabic portion of the dialogues (roughly half of the movie). If you are not fluent in French, there is no problem : French and Arabic are subtitled in English. If you are French speaking but unfortunate enough not to speak Arabic as well, you have to rely on the english subtitles (but then, the French too will be subtitled). If you don't speak English and Arabic, then half the movie will be lost on you. Way to go Alliance, perfect score!

That's typical of Alliance. They often don't even bother to include English subtitles as well.

Are you kidding me? Another movie that does not come with a possible/potential US street date! Are Hollywood's sub-par flicks the only movies we are relegated and forced into watching on BD! This is bollocks!

Don't get me wrong I love movies, even the silly C-grade movies that our sold-its-soul-to-the-devil SyFy churns out every weekend. But once in a while I would like the opportunity to get movies like Mesrine, Carlos etc Stateside instead of having to pay an arm and a leg for shipping from up North.

I'm done

Much of it seems like a shot-for-shot remake of Saving Private Ryan, especially during the final battle. In both movies, there's a guy who's kneeling on the ground. The actor isn't sure when he's supposed to fall down and die, so he turns around to look at another actor walking up to him to shoot him.
