problems with a certain Blu Ray Disc.. - Blu-ray Forum

Hi guys,

I hope I'm posting this in the right forum...

Today i just received a couple of blu-ray movies from Amazon, all of them play on my PS3 with the exception of 1 disc, Nine Inch Nails Live: Beside You in Time.

I popped in the disc like any other movie that I've tried out and all I get is a black screen and that was the one disc i was really hoping it would work!!!

To my knowledge, the disc is indeed region free and my set up for the PS3 is like this : PS3-> HDMI to DVI converter -> Samsung SyncMaster 205 BW LCD monitor, for audio, i just use standard PC speakers for it.

So I was wondering if anybody has had similar experiences with this particular Blu-ray movie or is there a setting that i have to configure.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok.. well after a couple of minutes of button mashing, the sound came on but still there is no video...

I just checked a review, the NIN is 1080P, so it should work just fine (I have a computer monitor also that doesn't accept interlaced signals, and the PS3 doesn't de-interlace 1080i).
Maybe you have a bad disc? Just tell amazon, they're really cool when it comes to replacements or refunds.

Hi, I was just done fiddling around with the PS3's settings, changed it to 720p and oddly enough, it does play! I'm just grateful that it does play though only at 720p resolution
