Default Madagascar 2 - Playback issue on BD55

I rented Madagascar 2 at Blockbuster Video and when I tried to play it, my player made weird grunting and vibrating sounds and it never played it. I then tried my copy of Batman Begins on Blu-Ray and it played fine.

I took it back to Blockbuster and they tried to play it on their PS3 and it worked fine?!?!?!

I don't understand, if it was my player, then it should not work on all the movies. Yet it worked on every movie I have except the new Madagascar 2 Blu-Ray.

What's the deal???

firmware? thats what comes to mind. Inform Panasonic the titles it wont play so they can start working on a firmware update.

Madagascar 2 can play perfectly fine on my BD-P1200 though, an old player with firmware from November

I wonder how long company's are going to support the players with new firmware updates, as we all know players are discontinued all the time.

UH-OH, I have a BD55 too and was going to order this disc. Has anybody else been having problems?

My first copy of Madagascar II had the same vibration issue during playback. I ended up replacing it with a new copy and it is playing fine now. It seems that the original disk is out of balance. Perhaps there was an issue with a batch of these BD's.

I just played it last night without any problems... I bought my copy.

Did Blockbuster put any extra labels on the disc? That will throw it out of balance, and possibly cause harm to you player.
