Worse change to the Star Wars OT - Blu-ray Forum

Just a warning to fans who prefer the altered verions of the original trilogy. This thread is mainly for people who don't like certain aspects of the altered films.

Ok so I see a lot of heated discussion in the Star Wars Blu-Ray thread about issues with the altered versions of the original trilogy. So I decided to make a thread to see what everyone thought was the most offensive change.

Mine would have to be adding Hayden to the end of Jedi. While I disagree with almost all of the changes George made, this has to be the most offensive to me. It completely ruins the end of the trilogy for me.

I personally hate the addition of jaba in A New Hope.

To me, he’s more menacing when u finally see him in Jedi after he’s been mentioned in the previous 2 movies. Making him walk was just ridiculous as well.

I also hate the singer being added into Return of the Jedi in Jaba’s palace.

Those are the 2 worst additions for me.

I completly agree! He seems almost like a joke when they added him to ANH. I mean having the most dangerous mobster in the galaxy let you step on his tail is ridiculous!

Having Greedo shoot first not only makes for a garish visual effect but, more importantly, it, in an instant, renders Han Solo's entire character arc almost totally inert.

Sorry I know it is so hard! I wish now that I had created an option for more than one. I just wanted to see which change people hated the most even if they disliked them all. (which I do) If there is more than one feel free to comment on which ones bother you and why.

Ok so I am guessing your one of those people who prefer the altered versions. Well thats fine, but there is no need to be sarcastic. I just made this thread for the people who don't like the changes to have a proper place to vent.

There's no "sick of hearing the fanboys cry about Lucasfilm raping their childhood" option. That should be there.

Alot of them were really bad, and some of them I could tolerate. I have to say Greedo shooting first is the absolute worst. Second I would say adding the scene with Jabba in A New Hope. IIRC when that scene was originally filmed and cut from the movie Jabba was intended to be a human. Of course they had to CGI him to maintain continuity. The effect of Han stepping on his tail as he walked around him was just bad. I haven't watched any of the behind-the-scenes stuff lately though so I could be mistaken.

i voted for Jabba, but the more i thought about it Greedo was really the worst. i remember actually audibly saying WHAT THE F--- in the theater when i saw it.

Back when I was 13 years old and I saw the '97 SE in theaters, I thought every single change was spectacular. What can I say, I was a dumb kid.

As an adult, Jabba's scene is the only thing that really bothers me. The scene itself is pointless and redundant, the CGI's pretty bad, and it should have been left as a deleted scene in general.

The worst Hayden Christensen ghost without a doubt because now it ties those crappy prequels with the OT and there is no way to escape the PT!!!!!

Replacing Shaw with Hayden irks me the most.

Anakin died an older man and his ghost should appear that way. If Luke saw Hayden he should be saying, Who the F#@$ is that guy?

I suppose this goes under CGI creatures but adding the beak to the Sarlacc seemed stupid too.

I would have voted for all of them had that been a choice. I wish they had left the films as they were....... but... I am not George Lucas. The films belong to him and I respect that he can do as he pleases.
