Default Final Cut Express question

Does anybody know if FCE 3.5 HD will record out to a blu-ray recorder? I've looked all over the place - even Apple's site - and nada word on blu-ray compatibility.

No. FCE is a standalone app, like final cut used to be. Apple is dragging their collective behind on blu compatability, considering they are an official backer. When they offer blu-ray burners in their compters, a iBD (like iDVD) application should not be far behind. In the meantime, if You can afford a BD burner, their are some programs (Toast) out there that may do the trick for now. Or buy FCP, like I want to. It sure would be nice.

Well I have Toast and it did not do the burn correctly on my first attempt. Too much compression. Well maybe Leopard will have some additioal possibilities.
