Hi,
Please forgive if this is in wrong area, but looked best place. I bought a Panasonic DMP BD-55 Blu-Ray player a couple of weeks ago, here in the UK. All my discs have worked great, but today, I bought my first disc to have "BD-Live" features, and was really looking forward to trying it out. When i accessed the BD-Live menu, it stated that "No network was connected, or that my player is not BD-Live compatible" (paraphrased). Well the Network is OK, I reset it to make sure, did the Network test etc. in the players network settings and it passed OK, it also upgraded the firmware. I set the BD-Live feature settings to 'Permit' and no age restrictions are set Ironman still refuses to access the BD-Live features stating No Network and i dont know if i have a duff machine or not. I have done a google search for "Panasonic BD55 & Ironman BD-Live Problems"" and variations on that but no results, but did ffind this website. All my stuff is Panasonic, my TV is a 42" Panasonic TH42PZ85B, and i have a DVD Recorder DMR-EX-77EB which all function just great, plus a couple of older Panasonic DVD recorders in other rooms. I hope you can help as i am rather dissapointed, especially, after reading such glowing reports in all the magazines etc here in the UK that it was a brilliant system and won many awards. So if you can throw any light on this, I would be most pleased. Thanks. ![]() Drusus ~~~~~~~~~ Panasonic DMP BD-55 Blu-Ray Player, Panasonic TH42PZ85B Plasma Screen, Panasonic DMR-EX-77EB DVD Recorder Last edited by drusus; 01-28-2009 at 07:14 PM. |

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You,
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, No really, Thank You,! It never occurred to me that an SD Card had to be inserted before BD-Live would work. I did read the user guide from cover to cover, several times, and in the BD-Live section,"Enjoying BD-Live disc with Internet" on page 16, it states that additional content such as film trailers and subtitles can be downloaded to SD cards. So i thought that meant when once you were using BD-Live, it would prompt you for an SD Card if it wanted to download any new material. I have popped a post-it note inside the page to remind for the future, should i forget. Anyhow, it is working now, thanks to you, so once again, I Thank You. Drusus ![]() |

Sorry to reopen this post , but I just bought a 4GB SD Card and the BD live won't work . I did exactly like drusus , " I set the BD-Live feature settings to 'Permit' and no age restrictions are set " , the test works , but not the BD Live feature
I have the Panny DMP-BD35 player . Thank you ![]() |

and I have never been able to get BD-Live to work.
I have put a 2GB SD card in it and it's plugged into 7GB/sec connection via my router. I've tried BD-Live discs from Sony, Disney and Universal. Can't get any of them to work. BD-Live is not a high priority for me, but it would be nice to know what's up. |

BD Live is stupid, why should we download special features that should be on the disc in the first place. I put in Hancock and downloaded a interview/promo thing and it was pathetic, just something you would download on apple.com/trailers before the release. 50gb of space and they still make you download.

KB59,
Are you getting an error message or does it never finish loading? BD-Live features are not instant access, they take forever to load. They can take 20 minutes or more and much longer during peak times. So far I haven't seen anything in BD-Live that is worth even looking at, let alone wait for. Does your player check for the firmware update through your network connection? Barry |
