Default Jbl and yamaha speakers

i was just wondering about the quality of build and sound of these speaker brands for home theater and 2 channel use? i am not in the market for new speakers but i hear so much about b&W, def tech, paradigm, polk audio, martin logan, and klipsch. so i was just carious to what people thoughts are

My current speakers are JBL Northridge series that I've had for about seven years. I don't think I would call myself an audiophile, but they've served me very well and sound great when paired with a Harman Kardon receiver (JBL and H/K are under the same parent company).

I have not been very excited by any JBL speakers that I have heard, and wouldn't touch Yamaha speakers with a 10-foot pole unless they were given to me.

Definitely go to a specialist AV dealer and audition other brands if you are in the market.

If you frequent message boards, you'll find out you have to spend $10000+ to have a "quality" speaker. *Insert sarcasm here* Good luck with your speaker hunting My advice; make sure you buy the ones that the guy with the highest post count tells you to.
