Default Polk Audio RTi4 or Monitor 50?

Thanks for taking the time to look into my thread people. Im in the market looking to buy a few speakers for my setup. Currently i have a pair TSi100 for my rears and a CS10 for my center. Im looking to buy speakers for my surrounds and Fronts. For my surrounds im thinking of the RM6751 but i cant decide what i would like for the fronts. Here's my prefence: i dont want to spend more than $200 for my fronts. I also would prefer not to get anything bulky or too space consuming but at the same time i dont want to sacriface too much quality either. Is the RTi4 comparable in sound quality to the monitor 50's? Please guys leave me your input, i'll like to order within the next 24 hours. Also what would you recommed for my surrounds? i dont want to send more than $330 for my sounds and fronts. thanks for looking guys

Current setup
AV: Onkyo 706
Fronts: ???
Center: CS10
Rear: TSi100
Surrounds: R150

Well you are going to want to timbre match your new fronts with your CS10. I would go with the TSi 200 (bookshelf). You can find the TSi 200 for around $200-$300 a pair. The TSi series from Polk has replaced the Monitor series.

The RTi series is timbre matched to the CSi series center. As you have a CS center already you would not be well served with the RTi series.

More importantly (to me, anyway) than them matching in color is timbre. I'm sure that shogun meant to say to get the RTi series. If you're looking at both and the price isn't a major factor, there's no reason not to go RTi.

You can get the TSi 200 in black. However, more importantly, it is timbre matched for your CS10 center channel. You will get a more even and balanced front sound field. I mean you can go RTi if you wish, but then at the same time I would recommend upgrading your center channel to a CSi. However, if you are not planning on upgrading your center then I would recommend against the RTi. The TSi 200 is a good speaker, it will go perfectly with your set up.

Oop. looks like I got my centers mixed up!

My one complaint about the TSi is that it's the same as the Monitor line... only at 2x the price. :\

Ok cool thanks. i actually havent bought the CS10 yet, i just have in on my wishlist on newegg. so its not in stone yet. i can change my centers. is the monitor 50 and the tsi200 the same size and width? if it is i'll rather go with the monitor 50 for the price difference. i really dont want to spend more that $200 range on my fronts. but i will be getting the TSi100 for my rears 100% sure, and i would be getting the R150 for my surrounds. Do those go well together?

Current setup
AV: Onkyo 706
Fronts: ???...maybe TSi200/Monitor50
Center: ...maybe CS10
Rear: TSi100
Surrounds: R150

Your surrounds are fine; you will be pleased with them. If you haven't bought your center yet, then I would build your front sound stage around your center channel. However, if you wanted to go with the RTI4, you are out of luck. It is almost impossible to find the CSi3 center channel that is timbre matched for the RTi series from Polk. I am going to assume you will want to go brand new. I haven't even seen it on Ebay Polk Direct. You can go with the RTi A series from Polk. I just picked up the CSI A4 center channel for $208.67 + $29.99 shipping. But then the RTi A4 is going for $339 brand new at most places. If you watch Amazon closely by the hour, some times you can catch it brand new for $213-$1-$217 + $29.99 shipping for brand new. I bought my A1's at $213 brand new on Amazon on January 4th this year.

I would recommend going with the CS10 center channel with the TSi 200's. Are you looking to buy towers or bookshelves for your front mains? If you want towers, try the Monitor 50's. The CS10 is going for $149.00 on newegg.com. I don't believe Newegg.com is an authorized dealer. The TSi 200's are going for $299.95 on jr.com. It's going to be hard to find a pair of fronts that are at $200 for the pair. You can go with the TSi 100's for the fronts too at $199.99 a pair.

Thank you so much bourne. So i think here is what i have so far based off your suggestions.

AV: Onkyo 706------Have it
Fronts: Monitor50 ---Almost sure
Center: CS10 -------Almost Sure
Rear: TSi100------- Sure
Surrounds: R150-----Sure
Subwoofer: PA 120 ---Have it

So how does that look. Does everything match in terms of the timbre and stuff?

Yea, everything matches. The Monitor series and the TSi series are practically the same. The TSi is just an update of the Monitor. You can even still find the CS2 center channel for around $129 brand new; that center channel was built with the Monitor series. You are going to have a nice set up; I hope you enjoy it. Polk is a good way to go with affordable speakers that give a perception that they are worth more than you paid.

whats the cheapest anyone here paid for a pair TSi100? i think i should be able to get them for $100 shipped. Is that an unlikely unrealistic outlook?

Good deal. Looks like you have a good setup in mind. Also, you're going to love that PA-120. I swear, it was the best bang-for-the-buck purchase in my whole setup (and my whole setup was done for bang-for-the-buck)!

How long have you had it?

Congrats WalleO. You are going to have a nice system. Yours is going to be complete before mine. I ordered my center yesterday, that should come in next week. But I am still hung up on what subwoofer to get; it is very difficult to find places around my area that have the subwoofers I am thinking of so I can audition them.
