No, it has HDMI pass through only(for video not audio).
If you have a PS3 or other blu-ray player that decodes everything, then the Sony STRDG720 is a good deal. If you want a receiver that does decoding, go with the Sony STRDG820.


You will NEVER hear lossless audio with the STRDG520,
You can with the STRDG720 or STRDG820.

Well I had that model and I can tell you that mine, didn't accept audio signal from HDMI from my PS3. It will only take the video and send it to the TV. It even says it in the manual that it doesn't decode audio from most components through HDMI so you would have to use a digital optical cable anyway.

well i dont know much about receivers. =\

I'm using a PS3 as a BD player, also have a 360 both for gaming. Someone told me that optical is still a better choice for audio but i wanted to get the forum people's voice. hehehe
