Question Insomniac Games teases new project

Quote:
The new North Carolina studio grew to 20 employees strong and has produced a playable build of their first project. Bryan Intihar, who is the Community Manager of Insomniac Games, was very impressed when he got the chance to see it. He stated the following in the podcast:

“We're not gonna tell you what they're working on but we can say we saw it and it's really awesome. And those guys, even though they're a pretty small group right now, it's amazing what they've done in the time that they've been down there.”

Community Relations Manger James Stevenson was also impressed with what he saw. He cautioned, however, that the project is still way too early to be shown to the public:

“Really good first playable. A lot of fun, a lot of potential and a long ways off still.” He later commented, “It's going to be really fun to show that game off eventually. But, even though we mentioned we've seen stuff now, don't expect anything anytime soon to be revealed.”

It doesn't sound like it's by Insomniac... Sounds more like some new smaller studio.

To essentially reiterate what Toxa posted (and his smiley), Insomniac opened a new studio in North Carolina, still considered to be part of Insomniac but able to work on different projects apart from the main studio. That studio has 20 employees, a fraction of what's required to produce something like a new Resistance title.

It's probably a PSN title.

I'm assuming this is a PSN title, having a playable build this soon would suggest so.

Well they may not be working on R3 there but I REALLY hope the main studio is on that one. R1 and R2 were some of the most enjoyable games I've played this gen. Definitely my top 2 FPSs (in terms of overall enjoyment).

I wish it wouldn't be a Resistance 3 for me, actually. I actually want Resistance to complete with the Half-Life series into the form of Episodes. I actually want a Resistance 2: Episode One if you ask me....

LOL, I hope Insomniac doesn't turn out pretty slow as Valve with Half-Life 2.

I think we should expect Resistance 3 in November 2010. Looking at how they alternate between Resistance and Ratchet should seem like a possibility. The first 2 games looked awesome to me, but i knew there would be a 3rd one, so i'm holding off on buying until that one comes out. Though i went to Youtube, seached for the video of R2's ending and was BLOWN AWAY lol.

PS3 exclusives (this, inFamous) definetly have better stories and results than xbox exclusives.
